Rigorous Proof of Large Time Coherent tructure for a 2-D Turbulent Flow Model

摘  要:There has been conjectures about large time coherentstructures for 2-D Euler equations using vorticity formulation and formal statistical mechanics arguments.By choosing stochastic models defining microscopic non-equilibrium flows with 2-DNavier-Stokes and Euler as mean-fields, and by altering the orders of multi-scale limits carefully, I will describe a program and report progress on rigorousl justifying these conjectures. Along the way of the proofs, I will describe some novel developments in the theory of large deviation theory and the study of (viscosity solution for) Hamilton-Jacobi equation in space of measures, for the purpose of solving the problem here.
This is an on-going collaborative work in a research team currently consists of L. Bertini (U Roma),F. Gozzi (Luiss U.), J. Feng(U. Kansas), T. Kurtz (U. Wisconsin) and A. Swiech (Georgia Tech.).
